Q: How old must I be to work in Camp Nageela?

A: Girls Camp: All counselors must be at least 1 year post high school. Specialty staff can apply after 12th grade. Girls coming out of 11th grade can apply as childcare staff for our staff families and/or a lifeguard if they are certified by the Red Cross.
Boys Camp: General staff position start with boys that are 17/finishing 11th grade. Counselor position 18 and above/post high school.

Q: I worked in camp last year. Do I need to attend orientation?

A: Yes- orientation is mandatory for all staff.  

Q: What are the dates of camp?

A: Girls staff orientation begins Thursday evening, June 17. Camp ends Monday July 12.
Boys staff orientation begins Monday, July 12. Camp ends Thursday, August 5.

Q: What is the salary compensation for general staff positions.

A: This information varies and will be detailed in your staff contact upon acceptance.

Q: I cannot make it to camp for orientation. Can I still apply?

A: Typically no. If you feel that your situation is an exception you must receive explicit permission from the Director of Camper and Staff Life.

Q: How do I get to camp?

A: Camp Nageela Midwest offers round-trip transportation from Chicago O’Hare airport, Chicago Midway airport and from our office on Peterson Ave in Chicago. Exact times are detailed in the staff contract.
