Camp Nageela Midwest was founded in 2007 with the mission and vision to create an incredible and unique summer camp experience for children and teens from all Jewish backgrounds and affiliations. The dream was to create the ultimate camper’s dream environment- beautiful campgrounds, a fun and thrilling program, a non-pressured growth encouraging atmosphere with dedicated and encouraging staff members. And why leave the fun for summer alone- let it continue with programs throughout the year! Our dreams have been fulfilled beyond our greatest expectations.

Campers in Camp Nageela come from over 25 states and identify with all Jewish affiliations. Our program consists of activities and fun that span every camper’s interest with a strong emphasis on choice programming (clubs) that allow campers to focus on the activities of their choice. Staff members are proud Jewish role models and are selected for their passion to live by its values of caring, warmth, and joy of living. Our single gender sessions give every child and staff member the opportunity to thrive in a low pressure environment.

After 12 summers on our campus in Marshall, Indiana, Camp Nageela Midwest purchased a new home in Ingleside, Illinois, the former site of Camp Henry Horner and less than an hour from Chicago. Our beautiful facility on the shores of Wooster Lake is home to many amenities and program opportunities and we are thrilled to call it our home. With many programs that take place in camp throughout the year and others closer to the Chicago community Camp Nageela truly has succeeded in extending the fun and communtiy of summer camp all year long.

Camp Nageela Midwest strives to ensure a safe and healthy summer for each child individually. We have received many high accolades and are a proud member of multiple camping agencies. Our fully equipped infirmary is staffed with trained medical personnel. All meals are nutritious, tasty and are prepared fresh in our kitchen facilities. All kosher dietary laws are strictly observed. We are happy to accommodate special dietary needs if arranged prior to the camp session.
