Individualized Care
Camp Nageela is recognized for their unparalleled attention to each and every camper. Our 3:1 staff ratio ensures caring, personal attention and rich relationships that continue throughout the year. Camp Nageela also has a Director of Campers who works with each child individually to ease adjustments to camp life and maximize success in camp.
Food: Campers in Camp Nageela enjoy three kosher and wholesome meals a day as well as snack. The camp will provide for those on special diets including vegetarian, lactose intolerance and gluten free. If you have a different allergy or a special diet, please contact the office before camp to arrange accommodations.
Medical care: The Camp Nageela infirmary and medical staff is fully stocked and prepared to deal with any medical situation that might arise. All medication that campers bring to camp is kept in the infirmary (by law) and is distributed by the camp nurse. There is no need for parents to send any over-the-counter products (Tylenol, Benadryl, decongestants, etc) as the camp has and will provide. Camp Nageela works closely with the local hospital to secure immediate medical care should the need arise. Please note, Camp Nageela requires all campers to have medical insurance. If a family does not have medical insurance, please contact the office to receive a release form to take responsibility for all incurred costs.
Bunks: All campers in camp are bunked according to age. Campers are able to submit up to 2 bunk requests. We do the best we can to make sure that every child bunks with as many friends as possible. The Camp is also divided into divisions to create fun programming tailored to meeting each age specific group. The Junior Division is campers completing grades 2-5 and the Senior Division is for campers completing grades 6-7. The Teen Program for campers completing grades 9-10 creates an entirely new spin on Nageela for these campers with special activities and trips. The Staff in Training Program for campers completing grades 11-12 allows campers to become part of the Nageela Staff while still having the fun of a teen camper. The daily schedule includes camp activities and responsibilities such as food preparation and canteen.
Communication: Campers in Camp Nageela write home at least once a week. Camp Nageela also works with the secure CampBrain system to post pictures of camp happenings daily. Through CampBrain, campers are able to receive emails and send emails back. If a parent has any questions about a child’s adjustment in camp, we ask that they please call the Director of Campers. All phone calls are returned within a time period of no longer than 36 hours. Please note that messages left for the director of campers on Friday afternoons are not generally returned until Sunday. If the situation is an emergency, please call the camp office and follow the emergency contact procedure.
